Dr Martin received his Bachelor of Medicine in 1988 in and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 1995.
He has published many articles in his area of interest and is actively involved in ongoing research and publications. He trains surgeons and registrars at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and performs regular live surgical tuition to Australian and New Zealand surgeons in the field of laparoscopic surgery and Robotic Surgery.
Dr Martin also runs regular laparoscopic bariatric masterclasses for surgeons from Australia and New Zealand.
The Wesley Hospital has recently been accredited as a Centre of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, making it the first hospital in Queensland and the second in Australia to be awarded this achievement. For over 20 years, The Wesley has been providing bariatric surgery using advanced procedures and surgical treatment to clinically obese people.
